Q: How do I upgrade from the previous version?

A: Upgrading is FREE for registered users:
 1. If you are using V1.3 or previous version, just download and install V1.50 from:

( Don't uninstall V1.3 or V1.41 V1.42 V1.43, install V1.50 to the SAME directory and overwrite old files.)

Q: How do I enter the Unlock Code?

A: 1. Go to 'Help-->About Best Price', press 'Shift+Del', then  Enter your unlock code. On successful registration, you will see a 'Thanks for your support' message.
2. Go to 'Tools-->Options', make sure all search engines are selected.
3. Restart Best Price

Q: Which Operating Systems does Best Price run on?

A: Best Price is a Windows program and will run on: Win95; Win98; Win2000; WinME; NT4.

Q: How can I improve the relevance of my results?

A: Sometimes results won't match your query exactly. This is because the search engines will first try to match your query exactly, and then find the closest possible matches.  There are a number of techniques you can try to improve the relevancy:

- Select the Correct Department under the Look In tab.  Best Price will then only return the matched records within the selected department. This feature has been added specifically to improve relevancy in your searches.

- Rephrase your query to be more specific. The more obscure your keywords, the more likely it is that search engines will only find partial matches.

- Use Exact phrase search syntax under the Search Syntax tab. 
Examples:
When trying to search for 'Kodak DC3400'
All keywords: List all records where both name and description include both 'Kodak' and 'DC3400' 
Any keywords: List all records where the name or description  include 'Kodak' or 'DC3400'.
Exact Phrase: List all records where the name or description include 'Kodak DC3400'
Display all : List all records that match the keyword(s) you enter.   

- Deselect search engines returning irrelevant results. Some search engines don't support Boolean queries or exact phrases. In this case Best Price will submit simple queries and process the results before displaying them as exact matches. This actually produces more accurate matches than results returned directly from engines that do support Boolean operators and exact phrases.

Q:How can I disable the advert banners?

A: Registration of Best Price is the only way to disable banners. Registered versions do not display banners. Register Best Price now from:

Q: I have just downloaded Best Price, how do I start it?

A: Best Price is distributed in an executable archive format.  Follow these basic steps and you should be up and searching in no time:

1. Double-click on the downloaded executable file. This will launch the installation program. Follow the wizard-based on-screen instructions. Make sure you are not installing from your Temp folder, or from the folder you want to install Best Price in.

2. Best Price will be installed into the Programs-->Best Price folder.

3. Click on the Start button and then on the Programs-->Best Price menu, You will see a Best Price option. Select this and Best Price will load.

4. Once you're connected to the Internet, simply enter a search keyword and click on the Search Now button in Best Price. Within seconds results will begin to appear.

Q: I'm getting no search results. What am I doing wrong?

A: There are a number of potential answers and things to check for:

1. Check whether your LAN or ISP connects to the Internet through a proxy (firewall). If so, go to the Tools|Options|Proxy menu and enter the proxy configuration details (you needn't use the http:// prefix for the address). If not, then make sure that Use HTTP Proxy is unchecked.

2. Especially in the case of international connections outside of North America, a direct link through to the search engines from your ISP can be temporarily unavailable. When in doubt try using ping from the DOS prompt to check that you can access a search engine from your machine. For example: ping www.yahoo.com

Q: How do I open a saved search?

A: To open a previously saved search, click the Folders button on the speed button bar,  You will see the Best Price documents stored in the Best Price installation folder under directory\userdata with  the name you specified when you conducted the search. If, for example, you did a search with the keyword "Dreamcast", the default name for this search would be: Dreamcast.bst. Click on that document, and a new Best Price session will be loaded with the query results displayed.

This method of opening previously saved search results is consistent with that used by the standard utilities on the Find menu. The File|Open menu item in Best Price is not for opening saved searches, it is used to Open a selected result.

Saved searches may also be opened by date, just click the History button on the speed button bar. Only saved searches that match the selected date
will be displayed.

Searches may also be saved in HTML or CSV format by selecting File|Save Search...

Q: Can I add my own search engines?

A: There are a number of reasons why you can't add engines from the client side. The most important one being that we maintain the full engine access languages centrally, so that we can update them whenever they change; another reason is that Best Price processes results from some of the engines before formatting and displaying them. In the next version, we will add new and updated search engine configurations "on the fly" without having to release new versions, or you having to download updates.

A: Try establishing your Internet connection before starting Best Price. Problems may arise when starting Best Price before connecting to the Internet.

A: If you have problems getting your code to work, or you've lost it (Hey, it happens!) ... please email us at sales@winshare.com .  Please include the serial no. (this can be found in 'Help|About Best Price'), your name, address, email address, and order confirmation number (if you have it). We will be happy to help you.

Q:Buy one license can use on three computer, is that true?

A: Yes, it is true, you only need to buy ONE license of Best Price, you can use it both on your Home PC, Office PC and Laptop. Just launch the program: Start> Programs> Best Price> Best Price, when the program is launched, select Help> About Best Price in the program menu, and this will provide you with the Serial Number.  Email this number with the contents of this email to sales@winshare.com  and they will send you your unlock code that removes the limitations of the software.

Q: How to install Best Price?

A: To install the software Best Price PRO on your PC, please follow the instructions below:

Download the software from the URL below:

Q: Why the serial no. of Best Price is changed?

A: The Serial No. of Best Price generated base on Windows operating system and harddisk, so if you upgrade the Windows version or change a new harddisk, or reinstall the Windows, the Serial No. of Best Price will be changed and the previous unlock code will not work. You just need select Help> About Best Price in the program menu, and this will provide you with the Serial Number.  Email this number with the contents of this email to sales@winshare.com  and they will send you your new unlock code that removes the limitations of the software.
